For Algonquin Outfitters, we set out to tell the story of their Canoe Lake/Portage Store location, a historic and iconic gateway into Algonquin Park. Known as the starting point for countless canoe trips, it’s a place where travellers from around the world gather to gear up, fuel up, and begin their backcountry adventures. Now under AO’s care, the store is embracing its rich heritage while offering a fresh, welcoming experience for new generations of explorers.
We followed a group of old friends as they met for their annual canoe trip- sharing stories, preparing their gear, and sitting down for a surprisingly great meal before pushing off. Their tradition is one shared by so many, and the result was a heartfelt, grounded campaign that celebrates Canoe Lake as more than just a starting point— it’s a gathering place, a part of the journey, and a living piece of Algonquin’s story.
